My media career continues to evolve but I would consider myself a utility player when it comes to broadcasting. I’ve been writing, producing, acting and voicing television and radio commercials for more than twenty years. I’ve had speaking and non-speaking roles in local, regional and nationally syndicated radio and television commercials, industrial training films and radio and television public service campaigns.
I’ve written commercial copy, political commentary, personal essays, and motivational speeches, instructional articles for trade publications and some killer cover letters and letters to the editor!
I have an extensive background in public speaking and have been frequently called upon to deliver motivational speeches to schools. I try never to miss an opportunity to speak to any gathering about my favorite charity guardian ad litem, volunteer advocates for neglected and abused children in the custody of the Department of Social Services.
I have a wide ranging and very successful track record in fund-raising and special event creation and execution. My most successful event to date is “Parade of Playhouses,” a benefit auction and raffle for the Greenville County Guardian ad Litem Program. Local architects and home builders design and build playhouses which are exhibited then raffled and sold at the Southern Home and Garden Show in early March. Since it’s inception in 2003, the event has raised more than $100,000 in support of the Greenville County GAL Program.
